Al Ain Sports Club mourned on its official account on Twitter its employee Abdullah Hussain, who started working in the club since 1978, and passed away yesterday in a state hospital.

Over the course of 42 years, Uncle Abdullah Hussein, as he was called, was driving the purple bus inside the country, transporting players to and from the stadiums of rival clubs. He was a witness to the 30 titles achieved by the "leader" locally and abroad, as well as the team's historic participation in the Club World Cup.

The first titles that he witnessed date back to the 1980/1981 season, when Al Ain won the league title, after a fierce competition with Al Nasr, while the most expensive titles were Al Ain winning the AFC Champions League title in 2003, while the last titles were the double. It was achieved by the team in the 2017/2018 season.

Most of Al Ain's players posted farewell words through their accounts on social media. The international goalkeeper, Khaled Issa, said: “May God have mercy on you, Abdullah Hussein, and may your soul be covered with paradise.”

The Egyptian Al-Ahly player, and the former Al-Ain player, the Egyptian international, Hussein Al-Shahat, shared his condolences. He wrote on Twitter: "God have mercy on him."
