Ahaus, North Rhine-Westphalia: Bus driver causes accident with more than two per thousand

An apparently drunk school bus driver caused an accident in Ahaus in western Münsterland with 21 students and a teacher on board.

According to the police, the 66-year-old drove the vehicle into the roof of a parking lot at midday.

From there, the group of students and the teacher should be brought back to school from swimming lessons.

Almost 100,000 euros in damage

The bus driver from Ahaus in the Borken district was slightly injured.

According to an initial estimate, property damage amounted to almost 100,000 euros.

According to an alcohol test, the driver had a blood alcohol level of more than two per mille.

The police initiated criminal proceedings and confiscated his driver's license.
