Tajikistan announced that from tomorrow it will suspend the matches of the local football league for a temporary period, after it has so far been among the few countries around the world that have continued to compete despite the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

The "Covid-19" epidemic led to almost complete paralysis in various sporting events around the world. But a few countries, such as Belarus, Burundi, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, kept the first popular game races in place, with a relatively limited number of injuries and deaths among their residents.

But the Football Association of Tajikistan announced that the matches scheduled for Sunday will be held as scheduled, with the matches suspended from tomorrow until May 10 at least.

The announcement came in line with the government's decision to suspend sports activities in the current period. The official authorities confirm that there are no cases in the country, despite press reports of deaths linked to "Covid-19".

The government announced last Saturday a two-week series of measures, including stopping sports activities, closing schools and stopping grain exports.
The local football league season in Tajikistan kicked off on April 4, at a time when sports activity around the world was almost completely paralyzed.
