South Africa had submitted a request to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to decide on precautionary measures in the genocide lawsuit it filed against Israel.

Last month, the court ordered Israel to take measures to prevent genocide against the Palestinians and improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, which was welcomed regionally and internationally, and American opposition.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that, as of Friday, has left 27,947 martyrs and 67,459 injured, most of them children and women, according to the Palestinian authorities, and has caused massive destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, according to the United Nations.
