French football is struggling to come together against the coronavirus pandemic. While club presidents do not manage to agree, for the moment, on the terms of a resumption (or not) of Ligue 1, another conflict does not end: that of the payment of rights TV in this period when there are no more matches. To break the deadlock, the Sports Ministry has proposed mediation between the different parties, says L'Equipe this Wednesday.

This arbitration would be done via the Bercy mediation cell. "I propose to the Professional Football League and the channels to bring in, if they wish, the mediator for Bercy businesses to try to resolve the dispute over the payment of TV rights which opposes them (…) even if the we remain in the uncertainty of the resumption of the championship, "said Minister Roxana Maracineanu.

On April 5, Canal + and beIN Sports did not pay the last due date (respectively 110 and 42 million euros) provided for in their contract with the LFP. "Today, more than ever, we need kindness on the part of each other," said Maracineanu, still in L'Equipe . This crisis is the worst time to settle scores. "
