Former boxing world champion Regina Halmich has announced a show fight against former “TV Total” presenter Stefan Raab on social media. “First the bad news: Stefan will come back if I fight him,” wrote Halmich on her Instagram account. »And now comes the good news: on September 14th. nothing better yet. We have a fight! Challenge accepted,” she continued.

In her post, Halmich refers to a video of Raab in which he talks to his eternal show intern Elton about a third fight against Halmich. Raab asked whether the former world champion would have time on September 14th. She can, says Elton after a one-sided phone conversation.

First, “Bild” reported that Halmich’s management had confirmed the fight. Afterwards, Halmich told the dpa news agency: "Yes, you could actually think that it was an April Fool's joke." But it was "actually the reality," Halmich went on to say that she had received the request and had dealt with it "after a long and careful process “After thinking about it,” I “decided that I would do it again.”

This was preceded by Raab's first video on the Instagram platform, with which he sparked speculation about a TV comeback. “When I have nine million followers, then I’ll do something again,” said Raab.

It was the entertainer's first contribution in five and a half years; the now 57-year-old Raab had not been seen on television for almost ten years. With 2.8 million followers, Raab did not reach the target number of followers; in the second video, Elton presented a plan B.

Halmich had broken Raab's nose

Raab retired from television as a presenter in 2015, but continued to work behind the scenes as a program developer. At the beginning of the year it was announced that the long-time presenter of “TV Total” and “Schlag den Raab” had co-founded a new production company.

Raab Entertainment will open its doors on January 1st, announced the new managing director and long-time ProSieben and Sat.1 station boss Daniel Rosemann. Regarding the company profile, a job advertisement on LinkedIn said: "Raab Entertainment produces moving image content for all broadcasters, platforms and customers; we are creative and hands-on." The company develops "concepts and ideas that are unique."

Raab had already faced Halmich, now 47, in the boxing ring in 2001 and 2007. At the first meeting, Halmich Raab, who weighed 51 kilograms at the time, broke her nose. Raab then showed pictures of his doctor's visit on his show “TV Total”.

According to a post from Raab on Monday, advance ticket sales for the planned new edition of the show fight should begin on Tuesday afternoon.
