The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will retain their name, despite the postponement of the Games to 2021 in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
“An agreement has been reached that the Games will retain the title of the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo and the Paralympic Games 2020 in Tokyo,” says the IOC.
The Tokyo Olympics were to be held from July 24 to August 9, 2020.
Earlier, the IOC announced the postponement of the Olympics in Tokyo in 2021.
