First, it was Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that they agreed with the IOC to postpone the Olympics. Shortly thereafter, the IOC also confirmed that this will be the case.

- Obviously, it's sad because I've been thinking about the Olympics every day for four years. It has been a dream, but at the same time I feel it is the right decision to take into consideration what it looks like today. There are bigger things to fight for than sports, says wrestler Sofia Mattsson to SVT Sport.

What does this mean for your own part?

- Now I have gone into uncertainty, and in some way it is nice to have something to relate to. It's the same for everyone and just make sure you are ready in the summer of 2021 or when it will be, she says

Set qualification

Sofia Mattsson holds an Olympic bronze medal from Rio de Janeiro 2016. She was not qualified for the Olympics because the qualification in Budapest was canceled which would have been decided in March.

- I will do everything to make me stronger, faster and in my best case when it's time. The Olympics have been postponed and it is still a dream to be at the Tokyo Olympics and take a medal, says Sofia Mattsson and continues:

- It has been very special, and it is only today that a decision was made. Until then, I have been set for July. At the same time, I have somehow felt this in the back of my mind, especially in recent days. I'm not really shocked and think it's a wise decision.

How have you been able to train during this time?

- We have had restrictions with no organized club activities. We have tried to do the training outdoors and even so few people on the carpet at the same time. In wrestling we are very much saved with other clubs and wrestlers from all countries. In these times it has been impossible but at the same time I have focused on other things with board training and fitness.
