Liverpool bid farewell to the FA Cup after losing to hosts Chelsea in a clean double on Tuesday in the fifth round of the tournament.

Chelsea advanced with a goal scored by Willian in the 13th minute, then Ross Barclay added the second goal in the 64th minute, taking Chelsea to the quarter-finals.

Liverpool climbed to this hard-won role after being forced to play a second match in the fourth round against Shrewsbury Town after a 2-2 tie. The Reds won the rematch by a single goal that lifted them to the fifth round, while Chelsea qualified after beating Hull City 2-1 in the fourth round.

This is the second loss for Liverpool in a row after losing last Saturday to Watford 3-0 in the English Premier League. It is also the third loss - it was against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League - during the last four games in all competitions, while this victory became the second for Chelsea in the last four games in all competitions.
