Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo did not train with Juventus Turin on Tuesday to travel to his native Madeira island at the bedside of his mother, who suffered a stroke, reports the local press in the archipelago Portuguese. "All we can say is that he is not in training for personal reasons," said the Italian club without further details.
A "quick visit"
According to the local newspaper Diario de Noticias da Madeira, the fivefold Golden Ball was expected Tuesday afternoon in Funchal, the regional capital, for a "quick visit" which should allow him to return to Turin the next day and participate in the half -final return from the Italian Cup between his team and AC Milan on Wednesday evening.
