Soccer Japan National Team Captain Yoshida To Sampdoria with a deadline February 1 18:50

Japan's national soccer captain, defender Maya Yoshida, will be transferring from Southampton in the English Premier League to Sampdoria in the Italian First Division with a limited time until the end of the season.

This was announced on the homepage by both teams on the 31st.

Yoshida, 31, moved to Southampton in 2012 and has participated in 154 games in eight seasons, with fewer opportunities this season.

Sampdoria is a team based in Genoa in northwestern Italy, which has fallen to 16th out of 20 teams this season.

For the Japanese players, the former Japan national team forward, Atsushi Yanagisawa, was in the 2013 season.
