Bayern Munich confirmed on Saturday the signing of goal Alexander Nübel , currently in the discipline of Schalke , and that opens the way to the succession of Manuel Neuer in the medium term.
Shortly before the team left for the winter rally in Qatar, the sports director, Hasan Salhamidzic , refused to confirm the signing but shortly afterwards the club did so through its website.
Nübel, 23, will join the discipline of Bayern on July 1, 2020 for the 2020/2021 season and, according to informal reports, will charge an annual salary of 5.5 million euros, less than he would have received in Schalke in the event that he had renewed his contract.
Nübel's contract will be five years and Schalke will not receive money for the transfer, as the player's contract expires on June 30.
At the moment, it is logically unknown Nübel, considered as the great promise within the German goalkeepers, will receive minutes when he joins Bayern, giving Neuer rest.
According to Sport Bild magazine, there was a conversation between Salihamidzic and Neuer in which the goal and captain of Bayern voluntarily refused to do without matches to give Nübel minutes.
Schalke, after knowing the signing, withdrew the captaincy from Nübel and in the second round of the league tournament the bracelet will be worn by Spanish midfielder Omar Mascarell .
