VfB Stuttgart won the top game in the Bundesliga against Borussia Dortmund 1-0 (0-0). On matchday 28, Serhou Guirassy scored the goal of the day for VfB (64th minute).

The win means VfB Stuttgart stays in third place, but is level on points with second-placed FC Bayern Munich. BVB, on the other hand, is in fifth place after RB Leipzig overtook Dortmund with an away win at FC Freiburg.

Last weekend, Dortmund won in Munich for the first time in ten years - the next top game was this Saturday against VfB Stuttgart. BVB got off to a powerful start at the 50th anniversary of the Westfalenstadion. Emre Can tested Stuttgart goalkeeper Alexander Nübel with a long-range shot, and Niclas Füllkrug put a header over the goal (13th/14th minute). However, the first big chance of the game belonged to the Swabians: Serhou Guirassy rose highest after a cross and placed the header free-standing to the left of the goal (25th).

Nübel's foot defense prevents the 1-0

Karim Adeyemi proved to be an asset for Dortmund, repeatedly using his pace. After a long ball from Mats Hummels, he escaped the VfB defense, but failed alone in front of Nübel (31'). As a result, both teams fought an intense duel. Nevertheless, big chances remained rare because the defensive lines were secure.

The initial phase of the second half belonged to Borussia Dortmund. Lots of ball possession and repeated sharp crosses caused danger. But Füllkrug was unable to capitalize on a header under pressure (60'). Dortmund put the pressure on, but Stuttgart scored the first goal.

After a remarkable ball relay over several stations, the ball landed at Guirassy, who hit the ball into the top right corner of the goal (64'). And the next big chance also belonged to Stuttgart, but Deniz Undav's header was denied by Dortmund's recovered goalkeeper Gregor Korbel (70'). In the final phase, Niko Schlotterbeck had a huge chance. However, he put a rebound in the six-meter area well over the goal (80th). Sebastian Haller and Jadon Sancho also missed the best chances to equalize (90+6/ 90+7).
