In a furious game, the English second division football team Coventry City reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

With a 3-2 (0-0) win at Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, the eighth-placed team in the Championship made it into the last four.

Ellis Simms gave the visitors a 1-0 lead after 53 minutes.

Within three minutes it was 2-1 for Wolverhampton in the 86th minute, Rayan Aït-Nouri and Hugo Bueno had scored.

Again Simms (90th + 7) and the American Haji Wright (90th + 10), who trained at FC Schalke 04, ensured Coventry's surprising away win and participation in the semi-finals at Wembley Stadium with two late goals.

ManCity advance thanks to two deflected shots

As expected, Manchester City also made it there.

Pep Guardiola's team easily won 2-0 (2-0) against Newcastle United in the world's oldest football competition on Saturday and will play for a place in the final on April 20th or 21st in London.

Even without playmaker Kevin De Bruyne in the stands, the Cityzens dominated the match from the start.

However, the guests helped with the goals.

City professional Bernardo Silva scored with a deflected shot to make it 1-0 (13th minute).

After almost half an hour, another Newcastle professional directed the attacking midfielder's attempt into his own net.

Superstar Erling Haaland remained unlucky after the break despite good opportunities.

After City keeper Ederson was injured in the Liverpool game (1-1), former Bielefeld goalkeeper Stefan Ortega was in goal and remained error-free for over 90 minutes.

Newcastle will most likely not be represented internationally next season due to the cup exit.

In the other quarter-final matches, Chelsea FC and Leicester City will meet on Sunday (1:45 p.m. / Stream: DAZN).

Afterwards (4.30 p.m./Stream: DAZN) Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool FC will visit arch-rivals Manchester United.
