The home team Czech Republic started the tournament in the best way when they won against Russia in the opening match. After that, there was a loss against Germany, and for the Czech Republic, it was to win against the US to secure a place in the quarterfinals. But the United States started the best and took the lead through Shane Pinto in powerplay.

But the Czechs would turn to the occasion. Libor Zabaransky scored two straight goals and the United States was rocking. Early in the second, it looked like Parik in the Czech cash register had saved Arthur Kaliyev's shot when the puck danced on the finish line. But after the judges called on the situation, it turned out that the puck was already inside and turned in the goal after hit in the inner bar. USA's second lead was a real delicacy when Trevor Zegras spun his guard off and then put the puck straight on the blade of Jack Drury who could easily put it 3-2.

New nasty damage to the Czech Republic

At the end of the second, Jan Jenik ended up in the corner with Jacob Pivonka in the US. After a collision, Jenik fell handlessly against the ice and appeared to be twisting in pain as he made his way to the knee.

"If this is serious then it is the end of the tournament for the Czech Republic," said expert Jonas Andersson in SVT's broadcast.

Jenik did not return to the third period and it could very well be that the Czech Republic has lost two of its best players to injuries after Jakob Lauko went out injured from the opening match.

Here the Czech star is hurt

After getting a receipt goal dismissed, the home team finally managed to get a receipt through Petr Cajka and the match went to extension.

The United States created best positions early in the stretch and it was also the Americans who would decide in three to three games. A real pattern attack where Cole Caufield through a handsome wall game with Alex Turcotte was completely dismissed with the Czech goalkeeper and could splash 4-3 to the home crowd's great regret. The United States thus leads Group 1 and if the Czech Republic is to be sure of an advance, then a win against Canada in the final match is required.
