  Zheng Qitai's agency, Hong Kong Metro Broadcasting Co., Ltd., issued an announcement on the evening of the 3rd, saying, "It is with a heavy heart that we tell everyone that Zheng Qitai, the program host of Metro Broadcasting Co., Ltd., left us due to a sudden illness on February 3, 2024."

  The announcement stated that Zheng Qitai suddenly suffered leg cramps and diarrhea on the evening of the 2nd. His fiancée Wang Yanzhi who was accompanying him initially thought it was just gastroenteritis, so he was sent to the hospital on the morning of the 3rd. After being admitted, he was immediately sent to the intensive care unit, where he has been in a coma. He passed away in the evening of the 3rd.

  Hong Kong media reported that Zheng Qitai recently announced that he had successfully proposed to his girlfriend, Hong Kong former roller skater Wang Yanzhi. Wang Yanzhi revealed that she and Zheng Qitai were still planning their wedding and discussing the details of the wedding recently, but they received the sad news that her fiancé passed away suddenly. She admitted frankly that she still has not accepted this fact.
