As a result, Matsumoto will be selected as the representative of the Tokyo Olympics, the first Olympics, and will be officially approved by the board of the Japan Rifle Shooting Association to be held next month.

Matsumoto is 35 years old from Nagasaki Prefecture.

He won a bronze medal in this event at last year's Jakarta Asian Games, and is aiming to participate in the Tokyo Games as an air rifle.
