Former Spanish coach Javier Aguirre has been replaced by Mauricio Pellegrino, who was sacked because of poor results.

The last stop for Mexican coach Aguirre in coaching clubs with Al-Wahda while his leadership of the Egyptian team in the 2019 African Nations Cup remains the last stop for the coach in total as his name has been hesitant during the last period to approach the return to the Arab Gulf League.

Aguirre has previously coached several Spanish clubs, including Real Zaragoza, Osasuna, Atletico Madrid and Espanyol. The Spanish newspaper said that the name of Aguirre is linked to success with Spanish clubs through his previous experiences, including the return of a club such as Atletico Madrid to be known in the European continent again.

Leganes are bottom of the Primera Liga with five points from one win in 12 games, and the task of Mexican coach Aguirre will be to save the team from relegation, especially in light of the strong competition for survival with Espanyol and Celta Vigo.
