Spanish football has seen a series of bizarre incidents this week that have somewhat overshadowed the trial of Dani Alves, accused of raping a girl in a nightclub. The athlete faces up to ten years in prison, and the final hearings began on Monday, February 5.

As it turned out, the former defender of Barcelona and the Brazilian national team is not the only one who is being tried to be prosecuted under this article. Betis midfielder William Carvalho recently received a summons to testify.

According to the plaintiff, she met the 2016 European champion in a restaurant in August 2023 in Seville, and then went with the Portuguese to a nightclub. The next morning, the victim woke up in her hotel room “with obvious signs of violence on her body.” At the same time, she almost did not remember the events of the evening, except for the image of the football player lying on top of her in bed, as well as the moment when Carvalho grabbed her tightly by the neck and forced her to be intimate. As a result, the woman accused the athlete of drugging her and raping her.

The Betis midfielder testified on Tuesday, February 6. He did not deny an intimate relationship with the plaintiff, but according to his version, everything happened by mutual consent of the parties. As it turned out, they met much earlier - in Ibiza, where the 30-year-old woman works, and there they also had sexual relations. And a friend of the player was present in the restaurant and club.

This time everything ended well for Carvalho. According to Estadio Deportivo, the judge, after listening to all parties and studying the facts, saw no signs of a crime, so the Portuguese was not charged and no preventive measure was chosen. Within an hour he left the meeting room, and in the afternoon he participated in his team’s training.

Another incident occurred in women's football. After training on Friday, February 2, the athletes of the Alsazula club, which plays in the regional championship and is located in the Navarro region, went to the shower and at some point noticed that they were trying to be filmed on mobile phones. When they saw those who liked to spy on the girls, they got into a black car and disappeared.

According to Spanish media reports, the police have begun an investigation into the incident, but so far they have not been able to identify the car and catch the hooligans. A statement signed by the club's board of directors called the incident "very serious and unacceptable." The team management also expressed the hope that this will not happen again and that the competent authorities will take the necessary measures.

Serious passions are also boiling on the football fields. The unexplainable incident occurred during the 23rd round of La Liga match between Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla in Madrid. The meeting ended in victory for the guests with a score of 2:1, but it was not the result that was remembered at all.

In the first half, a local fan, sitting in the front row, at the moment when midfielder Lucas Ocampos was about to put the ball into play from touch, poked his finger between the Argentine's buttocks.

The midfielder restrained his indignation and only reprimanded the young man, and then reported what had happened to the referee. After the match, the athlete asked La Liga to look into what happened, because if a similar situation occurs in women’s football, it could end in a huge scandal.

“Everyone saw these shots. I hope La Liga takes this seriously, like racism and things like that. I don't think all Rayo Vallecano fans are like him, but there's always that one fool. “We all know what can happen if this happens in women’s football,” Lucas said. “I restrained myself because I have two daughters, and I hope this won’t happen to them in the future.” "We hope that disciplinary action will be taken, although I insist that one fool cannot tarnish the fans who behaved very well."

Sevilla also issued an official statement in which they condemned the fan's behavior and called for measures to be taken, as provided for in the regulations, to prevent this from happening again.

It should be noted that the police quickly managed to identify the young man. According to Cadena SER, the offender turned out to be a minor and his case will be transferred to the appropriate department of the prosecutor's office.

The spectators also distinguished themselves in other matches. According to Marca, the anti-violence committee will review the racist insults of Getafe fans against Vinicius Junior before the start of the match of the 20th round of the Spanish championship. Home fans greeted the Real Madrid club bus with shouts of “Vinicius is a monkey.”

Moreover, this is not the first manifestation of hatred towards the player. In mid-January, Atlético fans chanted the same thing, having disliked the footballer after his goal celebration. However, in the 1/8 finals of the Spanish Cup, the athlete himself behaved ugly, insulting the mother of the “mattress team” coach Diego Simeone, and also entering into a verbal altercation with the opposing midfielder Rodrigo De Paul.

In addition, the RFEF competition committee will have to consider a complaint about possible abuse against Mason Greenwood. La Liga even hired a lip-reading expert to check the theory that Jude Bellingham called the Getafe midfielder a rapist in one of the episodes of the second half.
