Italy's Gianluca Muscarella has been suspended for unethical behavior towards one of the ball collectors and supporting the player at the expense of another during a second-round match in Florence last week.

"We have taken note of a number of incidents involving key referee Gianluca Muscarella during a match between Portuguese Pedro Sousa and Italy's Enrico Dalla Valle during the Challenger tournament in Florence last week," the association said in a statement without elaborating.

"Muscalera was suspended from the course as soon as we learned of the incident. A full investigation was opened and a temporary suspension was pending," she said.
