UTMB is sometimes compared to the trail running Super Bowl and the 17 mile race goes through three countries; France, Switzerland and Italy with start and finish in French Chamonix.
For Kristin Berglund, the race was a success. The Swede finished second with a total time of 25 hours, 34 minutes and 12 seconds. She was almost exactly one hour behind Courtney Dauwalter, who won at 24.34.26.
On his way to the finish line on the rally, Berglund made highfives with the crowd and looked spiked for running for over a day.
