On the way south, a delivery truck driver from Eastern Europe deviated significantly from the permitted route in Italy: The 24-year-old man from Belarus was caught trying to cross a ski slope in his delivery truck in the Aosta Valley, as the police announced on Tuesday. After all, he had put snow chains on his vehicle.

Initially, near the winter sports resort of La Thuile, the piste staff did not dissuade him from continuing his journey, it was said. It was only the police who finally pulled the delivery truck, which had been loading textiles, out of traffic. Fortunately, no one was injured, according to the information.

The driver then had to take an alcohol test off the piste, which he passed. The police imposed a fine of 200 euros on the man. He was then allowed to continue towards France - this time as usual through the toll Mont Blanc Tunnel.
