The head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, the commander of the Sudanese army, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and his deputy, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), spoke to Al Jazeera about the clashes that have been taking place since the morning in several Sudanese regions.

The head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Sudanese army commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, told Al Jazeera that what happened should prevent the formation of any forces outside the womb of the armed forces, referring to the ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum and other Sudanese cities.

Burhan added that the Rapid Support Forces are the ones who attacked the army headquarters in the guest house, which is the residence of the President of the Sovereignty Council, and expressed his surprise by attacking the Rapid Support his house at nine in the morning (Sudan time), and the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council of the island added that the Rapid Support Forces harassed the army in the Sports City area south of the capital, Khartoum, which sparked clashes today.

According to the head of the Sovereignty Council in Sudan, the Rapid Support Forces infiltrated Khartoum airport through the Hajj and Umrah hall, noting that they burned some planes, adding that the armed forces dealt with the Rapid Support elements at the airport.

Al-Burhan confirmed that no one was able to enter the General Command of the Sudanese army, and that all strategic facilities from the army command and the Republican Palace are under control, in response to the announcement of the Rapid Support Command that it took control of the guest house, the Republican Palace and the airports of Khartoum and Meroe.

The head of Sudan's Sovereignty Council called for the return of the Rapid Support Forces that entered Khartoum to their places, adding that if the state of war continues, the army will bring its forces into Khartoum from different areas, and said that the army has "good reserves and bases that it has not moved so far."

Hemedti: The palace, the airports and the general command are in the hands of our forces

On the other hand, the commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo (Hemedti), confirmed that his forces control the guest palace, the presidential palace, the general command of the army and all airports.

Hemedti said in an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher that his forces neutralized all the planes on which Burhan depends, which he described as "a criminal and a liar and will destroy Sudan, and we will hand him and his aides to justice."

He added that the RSF has no animosity with the army, "We did not attack anyone, and our fighting is a reaction to our siege and assault, and we were surprised today by large forces that surrounded our forces in the campground, and our things are very good and we control all headquarters."

The head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, was accused of carrying out a conspiracy by supporters of ousted President Omar al-Bashir.

Hemedti expressed regret "for fighting with our people, but the criminal is the one who forced us to do so, the fighting was imposed on us after the attack on us and our siege, the battle will be decided in the coming days."

He sent a message to "the honorable people of the armed forces to join the people's choice and we represent it, democracy has a price, and I am doing my best youth now for that."

He added that "more than 100 officers and thousands of soldiers from the armed forces surrendered to us, we took control of the airports, to prevent them from targeting us with aircraft," stressing that the headquarters of the Rapid Support are fixed, and talk about controlling them is a lie.

The capital Khartoum and several Sudanese cities are witnessing violent clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, as the army closed bridges and roads leading to the presidential palace in central Khartoum with heavy armored vehicles, and deployed cannons and armored vehicles in the city of Omdurman.
