"The main thing that we need to insist on is that NATO is not a party to the conflict, does not send weapons and does everything to ensure that there can be no direct confrontation between the alliance and Russia," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
At the same time, he noted that the member countries individually have already gone far in the matter of sending weapons to the Kiev regime.
"It is no exaggeration to say that we have never been as close to a new world war as we are now," Szijjártó added.
Earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the Third World War with nuclear fires loomed on the horizon.
