Erdogan is thinking of meeting Assad

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today, Wednesday, that he is considering meeting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, according to the Turkish state-run Anadolu news agency.

"A meeting with Assad is possible. There is no rancor or bitterness in politics," Erdogan told Anadolu Agency, just days after launching an air offensive against the Kurdish militia.

However, Erdogan did not reveal any hope of easing tensions in northern Syria.

He said Turkey was more determined than ever to close its entire southern border, while providing a "safety line" from attacks.

"The operations we are conducting with our planes, weapons and drones are just the beginning," Erdogan said about the current attack, in a speech to party members on Wednesday.
