The American Bloomberg Agency reported - on Wednesday - citing Turkish officials, whom it described as informed, that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Egypt next month in an effort to restore relations after more than 10 years of tension.

The report added that the talks between Erdogan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi are expected to focus on aid shipments to the Palestinians in Gaza and the steps that can be taken to end the war waged by Israel on the Strip, which has been ongoing for about 4 months.

Later, Reuters quoted an unnamed Turkish official that Erdogan will visit Egypt on February 14.

Turkey and Egypt announced in a joint statement last July that their diplomatic relations would be restored to the ambassadorial level - for the first time in 10 years - after which the two ambassadors would be exchanged.

On September 10, Erdogan met his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi. The Turkish president said at the time that the meeting was positive and during which the issue of exchanging visits was raised.
