The Israeli occupation army said that a rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip, and that the Iron Dome was activated.

The occupation army announced that sirens were sounded in the settlements of Nirim, Al-Ain Al-Tadith and Kissufim in the Gaza envelope, indicating that the details are under discussion.

For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that settlers living in the Gaza envelope reported hearing explosions caused by interception of missiles.

According to the Anatolia news agency, the occupation army announced that the Iron Dome system had intercepted the missile fired from the Gaza Strip, for the first time in nearly 3 months, during which the borders witnessed a kind of calm.

The agency quoted the official Israeli Kan channel as saying that the missile launch was often in response to the Israeli army’s assassination earlier Thursday, Islamic Jihad activist Farouk Salameh, in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
