Syrian air defenses intercepted Israeli missiles in the airspace of the capital, Damascus, according to media and military sources, the first such attack this month.

A military source said that the Israeli forces carried out an air aggression with rockets from the northeastern direction of Lake Tiberias, targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus.

The source added: "Our air defenses confronted the aggression's missiles and shot down most of them, and the losses were limited to material."

In the same context, the Syrian official news agency (SANA) said that the Syrian air defenses repelled an Israeli aggression with missiles in the airspace of Damascus and the southern region.

Residents living in the south of the Syrian capital, Damascus, said that they heard the sound of a large explosion as a result of shelling or repelling Israeli missile strikes that targeted areas in the south.
