The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that two civilians were injured in air strikes launched by the Israeli army on the outskirts of Damascus, adding that the attack also resulted in material losses.

She added that the Israeli missiles were launched from the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a number of points around Damascus, without mentioning them.

Local media reported that the attack targeted the Dimas and Jamraya regions, near the Lebanese border, and targeted the Scientific Research Center.

Last Friday, Israel launched violent strikes on the Aleppo countryside in the early hours of the morning, resulting in the death of more than 40 civilians and soldiers, some of whom were fighters with the Lebanese Hezbollah.

Last week, Tel Aviv bombed several sites in the Damascus countryside, resulting in material losses.

Since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, Israel has intensified its raids on Hezbollah and Iranian Revolutionary Guard targets in Syria, resulting in the destruction of infrastructure and the killing of leaders.

Tel Aviv also targeted the air defenses of the Syrian army and some Syrian forces.

Israel rarely confirms the implementation of these strikes, but it reiterates that it will confront what it describes as Tehran’s attempts to establish its military presence in Syria.
