It was around 8pm on Thursday evening that the alarm came in about a fire on the second floor of the house.
According to the emergency services, there was a fire in the roof structure and the fire has since spread so that it is burning in three different places.
The other house has also been affected by the fire.
Several rescue units are now struggling to extinguish the burning house.
One person has been taken to hospital by ambulance, it is unclear what the injuries are.
The police have also been called to the scene and the area around the semi-detached house has been cordoned off.
It is unclear if there is any crime behind the fire.
