The efforts of neighbors and a property guard succeeded in rescuing a child who was about to fall from the 13th floor of a building in the Al Taawun area in Sharjah, the day before yesterday, after he got stuck in a window while playing and the neighbors saw him from the street, which necessitated their immediate intervention to save him and inform the police.

Adel Abdel Hafeez, one of the residents, told "Emirates Today" that upon his arrival from work, he noticed passersby pointing to a child hanging in one of the windows on the 13th floor, and immediately called the property guard, and they immediately went up to the 13th floor to save the child.

He added: "We knocked on the door, but no one opened, and I called the father of the child and told him to break the door to enter and save the child from falling in the street. We were allowed and we entered immediately towards the window, and we found the child holding the edge of the window with difficulty and standing on his tiptoes, so I grabbed his hands and the middle and raised him gradually, but the difficulty was The window opening was narrow, which required those present to raise it more until the child was brought in and rescued.”

He pointed out that the 5-year-old child is an Arab, and after he was rescued, six police patrols and ambulances attended immediately, as well as his mother, and he went to the police station to write a report on the incident and give his statements.

For his part, the property guard, Muhammad Rahmatullah, said: "After seeing the child hanging, I told those present to carry a blanket and a mattress at the bottom in anticipation of the child's fall, while I went with the residents to the apartment and broke the door to save him."

The Sharjah Civil Defense confirmed to "Emirates Today" that as soon as it received a report about a child being attached to a building, the Civil Defense Forces immediately moved to rescue him, and upon arrival, they found that the child had already been rescued and entered the building.

She called on parents to be vigilant about the safety of their children, especially in buildings and high places, and to follow safety and security instructions and follow up on children closely to protect them from accidents.
