In its budget request for the next fiscal year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs allocated 19.9 billion yen to prepare for the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, the summit meeting of seven major countries, and NATO, which is under the jurisdiction of the Japanese Embassy in Belgium. We will also seek to strengthen the functions of diplomatic missions abroad, such as by making the government missions of the treaty organizations independent.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to request 796.1 billion yen, which is 105.7 billion yen higher than the initial budget for this year, in its budget request for next fiscal year.

Specifically,

▽ 19.9 billion yen to prepare for the G7 summit to be held in Hiroshima next May,

▽ Towards a world without nuclear weapons, Prime Minister Kishida announced earlier that young people from around the world will visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We are including 1.2 billion yen in the contribution to the United Nations fund to have it done.

In addition, ▽ 510 million yen for information analysis and strengthening of dissemination of information on SNS in order to respond to "information warfare" such as that seen in Russia's military invasion of Ukraine,

▽ When it is necessary to evacuate Japanese people overseas 340 million yen is posted for expenses such as arranging charter planes.

Furthermore, in consideration of the situation in Ukraine and other factors, we will seek to strengthen the functions of diplomatic missions overseas, such as by making the Permanent Mission to NATO, which is also under the jurisdiction of the Japanese Embassy in Belgium, independent.
