An international conference to discuss issues related to the Internet has started in Kyoto. Minister Suzuki emphasized his intention to reflect this discussion and contribute to the creation of international rules for generative AI promoted by the G7 = seven major countries.

IGF Kyoto, an international conference hosted by the United Nations to discuss issues related to the Internet among governments and IT companies, began in Kyoto City from August 8 to 5 days.

Minister Suzuki attended a reception held on the evening of August 8 and stated, "Generative AI, which is rapidly developing and spreading, will be one of the most important themes."

In addition, Prime Minister Abe emphasized his intention to share discussions on the Hiroshima AI Process, a new framework agreed upon at the G7 Hiroshima Summit to create rules for regulating and utilizing generative AI, with international organizations, governments, and industry, and to contribute to the creation of international rules for generative AI by reflecting the discussions at this conference.

Prior to this, Minister Suzuki met with Kent Walker, Google's head of international affairs, and explained the G7's efforts on generative AI and asked for his cooperation.

On the 9th, Prime Minister Kishida will attend and give a lecture on generative AI.
