Kyiv announces the arrival of German "Mars 2" missile launchers

According to statements issued by the Ukrainian government, this evening, Monday, the arrival of multiple rocket launchers "Mars 2" from Germany.

This came according to what Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Resnkov wrote on Twitter today, where he thanked Germany and his counterpart, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht, personally for these systems.

Lambrecht last week announced the supply of three rocket launchers, and Germany delivered Gibbard air defense tanks and 2000 howitzer artillery systems to Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that the name "Mars" is an abbreviation of a Latin phrase meaning medium artillery missile system, and this system can launch missiles with a different method of operation, for example, GPS-guided missiles or missiles to launch mines to close parts of the land.

Launch batteries with a combat payload of up to 12 missiles can be installed on tracked vehicles with a speed of up to 50 kilometers per hour.

Some of these missiles have a range of more than 100 km.

In addition to the HIMARS missile launchers from the United States and the upcoming M270 MLRS system from Britain, the "Mars 2" is the third long-range artillery system provided by the West to Ukraine, which has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than five years. Months.
