"The Assembly will suspend the impeachment investigation following the governor's resignation, which takes effect on 25 August," Assembly Speaker Karl Heisty said in a statement.
It is noted that the investigation was supposed to determine whether Cuomo should take office, his decision to leave "meets" the objectives of the investigation.
Earlier, Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation amid a harassment scandal.
