Nicolas Ker, leader of the French rock group Poni Hoax, associated in recent years with Arielle Dombasle, has died at the age of 50, we learned Monday from the press service of his label.
The cause of death was not specified.
The man was known to have led a rock'n'roll life of excess, as seen in Poni Hoax's insane touring documentary, "Drunk In The House Of Lords".
"Nicolas was the last of the rockers with the golden voice. He was the very figure of the rocker with a torn heart, of the incandescent poet, he had a Dionysian grace, a rare fine and beautiful being, we mourn him", reacted from AFP Arielle Dombasle.
Met by AFP on the occasion of the release of their disc "Empire" in June 2020, in a large Parisian hotel, the two artists vouvoyait, while they were on their second album and also had a film - -disjanté-- in common.
"Their behavior is not related to the media canons. But they share a lot of things. Nicolas has this punk side, but also this cultured, learned side," journalist Matthieu Culleron, author of the documentary, told AFP. Drunk In The House Of Lords ".
Born in Phnom Penh (Cambodia), to a French father and a Cambodian mother, this dandy from the French underground had settled in Paris, where he died.
Ker had also composed film scores for Bernard-Henri Lévy, Arielle Dombasle's companion.
