Harsefeld (dpa / lni) - An 83-year-old woman died after a serious accident near Harsefeld (Stade district).
She was the passenger in her 89-year-old husband's car on Tuesday when the latter went off the road and hit a tree with the car.
The police also said they were both trapped in the car.
Firefighters freed the couple, who came to hospitals with life-threatening injuries after receiving first aid.
There the woman died.
At first, the police did not know why the man had skidded with his car.
