At that moment, according to witnesses, he hit an 83-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the zebra crossing with the right side of the truck.

According to the police reconstruction, the octogenarian

fell under the truck that, as it continued on its course, passed over the man with its rear wheels.

At that moment, the old man's body was displaced about 10 meters from the zebra crossing.

Several pedestrians began to scream and put their hands on their heads while the truck continued moving at a very low speed.

The Samur psychologists also appeared at the scene of the accident to assist the witnesses.

The victim was undocumented although he was later identified as a resident of the area born in 1941.

The agents questioned several witnesses who suggested that the truck could be one of the vehicles that go to the Copasa market every day.

With the characteristics provided by those present, the Police located the vehicle at the time it was unloading the products at one of the docks of the shopping center.

The truck still had traces of blood on one of the side areas.

The driver was arrested for reckless homicide and a crime of leaving the scene of the accident.

He will be brought to justice.

The agents provided the magistrate with the accident report explaining the moment of the accident and the driver's first statements that

fit with his version that he was not aware of the accident.

They also added the testimony of several witnesses and were waiting to review the security cameras of a nearby store to verify if they had recorded the mishap.

The arrested man tested negative in the breathalyzer test and in the drug test.

He was alone in the truck.

His colleagues at the Copasa market could not believe what had happened.

They claim that he arrived at the market and behaved as if nothing had happened.

"

He is a prudent and very sensible man who had never had an accident
