The Attorney General of the State, Counselor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, stated that violating the instructions and procedures issued by the competent authorities in the state to limit the spread of the Corona virus as one of the communicable diseases is considered a crime according to the laws of the state.

He added that every person coming to the state must adhere to the duration of the home quarantine in his place of residence for 14 days, and implement the instructions issued later by the competent authorities, and the person’s violation of the procedures of the home quarantine, leaving his place of residence and contact with others, is a violation of the provisions of law and public order, and a violation of community health His safety is at risk, and the Public Prosecution will strictly apply the law to everyone who violates these instructions, asking citizens and residents to abide by the instructions and decisions issued by the relevant authorities in the state, in order to ensure their safety, and so that they do not fall under the jurisdiction of the law.

He explained that the first article of the law against communicable diseases states that sanitary isolation is: voluntary or forcible separation of the injured person or suspect from other healthy people, the duration of the disease infection, in appropriate sanitary conditions and conditions, in order to prevent the transmission of infection from the injured or The person suspected of being infected, as the article defines quarantine: by restricting the activities of healthy people or animals who were exposed to the disease during the period of spread of the disease, for a period equivalent to the longest incubation period.

He pointed out that the law obligated the patient to submit to compulsory hospitalization by force, by staying in a hospital institution for a specified period to receive the prescribed treatment for him, continuing that Article 33 states that, upon knowing that he has a disease of communicable diseases, he must adhere to preventive measures, implement prescriptions, and comply with instructions Which is given to him, with the aim of preventing the transmission of infection to others, and anyone who violates the text of the article is imprisoned, and a fine of no less than 10 thousand dirhams and not exceeding 50 thousand, or one of these two penalties.

He added that Article 34 stipulates that it is forbidden for any person who knows that he has a disease of diseases to intentionally engage in any behavior that results in the transmission of the disease to others, and he shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years, and a fine of no less than 50 thousand dirhams and not exceeding 100 thousand, Or one of these two penalties, whoever violates the text of the legal article.

Al Shamsi warned of the danger of not abiding by the law, and not carrying it seriously, which leads to the spread of the disease, as a result of the negligence of some members of society, pointing out that the state is going through an exceptional situation and everyone must abide by the binding procedures.
