The Dubai Public Prosecution launched the service of short text messages in the stages of criminal cases, starting from the registration of the criminal complaint with the number of a criminal case in the Public Prosecution, until the disposition or ruling of the criminal case by final ruling, within the framework of its policy to delight customers as one of the strategic objectives of the government.
According to the Public Prosecution, the new service allows notifying the parties of the criminal case (the accused, the complainant) with text messages on their mobile phones registered in the criminal communications, with the procedures or decisions taken in the criminal lawsuit during the investigation, disposition, and trial before the criminal courts specialized in Dubai courts, so that the parties to the lawsuit Be aware of the procedures and decisions taken in the criminal case.
She emphasized that the new procedures serve members of society in several aspects, as they reduce time and effort regarding personal attendance to the prosecution headquarters, and give the parties to the lawsuit an opportunity to be informed of the latest developments and stages through which the cases go through.
She added that the text messaging service includes the criminal prosecution office in Deira and Bur Dubai, the specialized prosecution offices, the appeals and distinction offices, and the administration of cases in the public prosecution according to the different stages of the case.
She indicated that the total text messages sent to the parties to the criminal lawsuit since the launch of the service at the end of last February until the first week of March, amounted to 11 thousand and 866 text messages, with 3500 messages in the stage of filing the case, 5907 messages in the disposal stage, and 2450 messages At the trial stage.
