Charles Blé Goudé responded, this Saturday, January 4, during a speech in The Hague, to his condemnation by the Ivorian justice. On December 30, the former head of the Young Patriots was tried in absentia for "torture, willful homicide and rape", and sentenced to 20 years in prison. In presenting his wishes to the Ivorians, the leader of the COJEP party announced that he would bring several appeals.

In his wishes for 2020, the year he described as " sensitive " to ten months of the presidential election, Charles Blé Goudé announced the remedies he intended to bring, following his conviction in absentia, to 20 years in prison .

Faced with this instrumentalization of justice, with the sole aim of deviating, as a political opponent, from the debate in my country, I have no other recourse than the law. This is why, after consultation with my lawyers, I decided to seize the following institutions: the African Court of Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights and the International Criminal Court, so that force returns to the right. I do not want to brave anyone but I commit this initiative so that it is never allowed, ever, that the Abidjan regime tramples on our rights and freedoms as it sees fit, "he said.

Charles Blé Goudé also launched an appeal to religious and customary leaders. He invited them to compensate for the " intermittences " of the regime which, according to him, remains " deaf " to the demands of the population.

Finally, the COJEP boss, who was speaking before his party's representatives in Europe, again asked for a meeting with the Ivorian president, Alassane Ouattara, to whom he intends to send a letter in the coming days.
