“Vladimir Putin thanked Donald Trump for the information transmitted through special services that helped prevent the commission of terrorist acts in Russia,” the Kremlin website said in a statement.
The parties also discussed a range of issues of mutual interest.
The leaders of the two countries agreed to continue bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, Putin held telephone calls with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
