15 years of problems in rainy weather - now the viaduct in Sandviken will be investigated

- It is usually water filled here after a rain. You have to think about taking another road home, says Malin Olsson.

During the weekend rainy weather, the viaduct in Sandviken flooded again. The police even went out and urged motorists not to drive through the bodies of water without turning around to go another route.

In the SVT archive we find images from 2005 when people bathed in the water masses during the viaduct. But now, after years of problems, the municipality should address this issue and an investigation should be appointed. According to Erika Ågren, technical manager at Sandviken municipality, an alternative could be to build collection ponds so that the grid does not need to be flooded.

- We must do something and it will not take another 15 years before everything is fixed. I promise, says Erika Ågren.

For car carriers, the viaduct is a safe source of income. After almost every rainstorm you can go here and pick up cars.

- This summer I had to pick up a new taxi which I drove directly to the scrap. All electronics were knocked out of the water as they entered the car. It is bad that the municipality has not done anything for several years, says Patrik Persson car salvage in Gävle and Sandviken.
