The IMF commented on the situation with "Privatbank"

"In 2016, the international partners of Ukraine supported the decision of the government and the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) to nationalize Privatbank, because it was the only effective way to protect bank depositors - Ukrainian individuals and legal entities - and the stability of the financial system," RIA Novosti quoted Lyungman .

The IMF representative added that Ukraine’s international partners are closely monitoring the situation.

Earlier, the Kyiv District Administrative Court declared the nationalization of PrivatBank illegal.

On December 18, 2016, the cabinet decided to nationalize the Ukrainian PrivatBank.
