The Ministry of Health and Community Protection has announced that it has included the vaccination of cervical cancer within the basket of essential vaccinations, in a voluntary manner, for women who wish to receive it, without obligation, to become free of charge for female students and for non-nationals. Assistant Ministry of Health Centers and Clinics, Dr. Hussein Al-Rand, who asked the parents to consult the consultant of children and women about the importance of vaccination so that they can make the most appropriate decision.

Al-Rand told Emirates Al-Youm that the vaccination was included in the basic vaccination program, starting this year, on the recommendation of the Advisory Council for Immunization.

He pointed out that the negative reaction about vaccination through social media was due to the talk of non-specialists around him, stressing the need to consult a specialist pediatric and women, on everything related to the disease and vaccination.

He added that the UAE is one of the first countries with low cervical cancer, while the new vaccines will increase this rate to the lowest rates globally, noting that girls will receive the first dose of vaccination during the second semester, and after several months will receive the second dose, Pointing out that all studies confirmed the effectiveness of the vaccine in the prevention of infection in the future, and then decided to give the ministry according to scientific foundations.

Al-Rand pointed out that the program "Cancer Detection", implemented by the ministry has succeeded in raising awareness of the importance of early examination, and will contribute to the program «Vaccination against cervical cancer», also to ensure the prevention of this disease by a large percentage.

He explained that the ministry is keen to rehabilitate workers in the early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer, within the package (reassurance), providing them with accurate information and scientific developments on the disease and the mechanisms used in early screening programs, and continues to support partnership and cooperation between governmental and non-governmental bodies To support efforts to combat breast and cervical cancer.
