Yamaguchi Prefecture and Shimonoseki City announced on the 12th that 217 new people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in Yamaguchi Prefecture to 16,838.
The prefecture also announced that a man in his 90s who had been receiving medical treatment died on the 11th.
With this, 109 people died after being infected with the new coronavirus in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
