David Furnish, Elton John's husband, has lost his father.

Jack Furnish passed away at the age of 90, as he announced on Instagram.

Jack Furnish is described by his son as an “old school curator” who “opened up his horizons”.

“My father managed to overcome the trauma of having a family torn apart by two world wars.

He found solace in my mother's loving arms, and built a strong family platform that allowed us to thrive.

He was conservative, had a vision of the world through his telescope, which had been given to him.

He was afraid of what he did not know, but never ceased to amaze me, because he opened his horizon, ”he posted.

A happy grandfather

“He was there for the birth of my two sons, and was happy for Elton and me.

Thank you dad, you encouraged me to be independent and strong.

Thanks to you I know that I can make my dreams come true, ”added Zachary and Elijah's father.

David Furnish adds that his father is “now with Mom, where he always wanted to be”.

He also thanked him for "everything you have done for me" and promised to "pass all the lessons you have given me to my sons".
