According to Yampolskaya, one of the most significant achievements of the committee was the adoption of a bill allowing the demonstration of Nazi symbols for educational and enlightening purposes, subject to the "formation of a negative attitude to the ideology of Nazism and the absence of signs of propaganda or justification of Nazism."

“A person could be punished for any film frame, a frame from a photo chronicle and a documentary chronicle simply because one of our laws prohibited the use of the swastika completely, totally. I think you saw when on our television they tried to “sparkle” the swastika on the sleeve of Stirlitz - well, because it is forbidden. This island of absurdity has existed for several years, ”said the head of the committee.

She emphasized that the release of people from restrictions now allows, on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Victory, to fearlessly appeal with materials containing Nazi symbols if there is no propaganda in this.

The second important event for the committee, according to the politician, was the adoption in the first reading of the bill on the removal of age marks. However, emphasizes Yampolskaya, this work remains to be completed.

“We will also have to punch this wall with our head for the second reading. I am already preparing for the fact that all this has to be experienced in a new way. Denunciations, insults, accusations, slander - everything that is possible and impossible, everything that we experienced, guided exclusively by a good intention: that the best books, the best films ... everything that domestic and world culture has accumulated is available to the child. So that the child is not protected until 16 years from the opportunity to read Sholokhov and Shukshin. Then we will wait for him to read something from us. He will never begin to do this, ”explained Yampolskaya.

According to the head of the committee, there are many unnecessary prohibitions in Russian law.

“For example, I always flinch when I see a caption before a movie, especially about a war:“ Tobacco products are shown on the air - smoking is dangerous for your health. ” In such cases, I think: “And forcing the ice river is not dangerous to your health? A sortie to the rear of the enemy, to get out of the trench to attack - is it not dangerous to health? The most dangerous to health that is shown in this film is smoking? Shag wrapped in a piece of newspaper, huh? ” I, a person who has not made a single puff in my life (I never held a cigarette in my mouth and really, really do not like the smell of smoke), I understand that this struggle should not be turned into a manic one. Because we often show things that are much more dangerous than smoking. I believe that such a caption before the films about the Great Patriotic War is simply offensive to these films, ”she added.

Yampolskaya emphasized that the committee did not advocate the adoption of such norms, but, on the contrary, was trying to repeal them. The process of exemption from prohibitions, she said, is difficult, because the committee has to deal with opposition from all sides - including activists.
