Munich: Demo against gender ban – “nothing divides society like the ban party CSU”. Since Tuesday, word symbols such as the gender asterisk or the colon have been banned by law in Bavaria's schools, universities and authorities.
Queer and feminist groups are calling for protest in Munich. Around 650 demonstrators gathered in the Isarvorstadt. The black-red coalition in Hesse also plans to ban special gender symbols in state institutions. The group is not concerned with an obligation to gender. Everyone should be free to use language the way he or she wants – without legal prohibitions.
