Finland changed its mind about closing Russian schools after public outcry. A resident of the city of Imatra, Maria, told RT that parents received letters from the management of the school with an in-depth study of the Russian language and culture.

It is noted that the decision was also influenced by an audit conducted by Heikki Halila, professor of civil law at the University of Helsinki. According to local laws, private schools themselves have the right to decide how to operate - prohibitions by city authorities can be regarded as an abuse of power.
